Sheldon's Bait is a family owned business, since 1991.
David, being a keen fisherman found it hard to purchase gents most of the time and decided to start his own maggot farm.

Using the help from his dad, who had worked on a maggot farm in England and the owner of that farm he started "The Maggot Farm' which is now known as 'Sheldon's Bait.

Sheldon's Bait is now South Australia's largest maggot breeders with the majority of the state stocking our gents, either direct or through SA Bait Supply or The Bait Shop.
They also supply two bait suppliers in Western Australia, Dr. James Wallman of The University Of Wollongong for classes on entomology and more recently a handful of stores in Victoria, The Melbourne Coarse Fishing Club and The Sydney Coarse Fishing Club. Their gents have also been used in the production of a handfull of movies filmed in Australia - 'Australian Rules',  'Like Minds' and 'The Pacific'.

2007 saw the creation of 'Strike & Hook', a website dedicated to all South Australian anglers. Working closely with people in the industry gives the site the edge and keeps it ahead of the rest. The site consists of fishing reports, information, a forum boasting over 200,000 posts and has a member base of over 6,000.
